More Men Get Plastic Surgery To Compete For Jobs
MIAMI (CBS4) ―

Finding a job in this economy is extra tough. That’s why more job-seekers are doing work on themselves. They’re having surgery to keep up with the younger competition.

Graphic designer Bob Kiernan is looking for a job, and one has caught his eye.

“I’m being interviewed by people half my age,” Kiernan says.

He’s also facing younger and younger competition, and at 56-years-old, and unemployed for a year, Kiernan’s decided to some work on himself. He had a cosmetic procedure called the “Y Lift”, hoping to turn back the clock.

“I think it will help me get a job, because people will see the confidence and I won’t look as tired,” said Kiernan.

Plastic Surgeons say they’re seeing a growing trend in this sluggish economy; more and more men are having minor nips and tucks to look more attractive to employers.

They even had an episode about this on Desperate Housewives! At least plastic surgery evens out the playing field so older people can compete. That rhinoplasty and chin implant picture is fantastic! :)

Not only are men searching for a better image in order to stand out among the competition and get the perfect job but also looking for that confidence boost that comes with surgery and helps them seal the deal when interviewing for that dream job!

I just saw Dr. Salzhauer on Chanel 10 News on a story about a new application he has lounged called iSurgeon that shows you how you will look after surgery. I’m a little hesitant about having surgery but maybe if I see the possible results before hand will help my fear go away. Is this really possible and if it is - is it something that he offers on his consultations?

I’m 32 years old and I’m starting to look it but I don’t think I need a facelift,
I’m wondering if maybe a browlift will brighten my face and give me back some youth?

I totally believe this article. I’ve been reading everywhere online and even saw an article in the paprer how overweight people and those that are older are paid less and get less promotions then so called “average weight” and “young people”

I am so thankful for plastic surgery. Can you imagine life without an option to improve your physical characteristic and self-esteem? People always say that looks aren’t everything but realistically the minute you enter a room for an interview the first thing being judged is your general appearance. Self-esteem plays a major role on the outcome of the interview. More men have realized the benefits of plastic surgery and therefore are undergoing procedures to bring back their youthful appearance. I think it’s fantastic!!!
