Blog For Surgery

Changing the look of ones ethnicity.

Lee in Fort Lauderdale says:  I’m of Asian descent. Can you make my eyes look American?

Dr. Salzhauer:  The Asian upper eye lid differs fundamentally in structure from the Caucasian upper eye lid and that’s why they look different. And there are surgeries that can be done to give an upper eye lid crease like a Caucasian eye lid. It’s very popular surgery both here in the United States and in the orient and in the Asian countries as well. And it’s a fairly simple operation. It takes about an hour and a half. It’s permanent. It’s hard to undo, so you have to be certain that you want to change the way your eyes look. But it can make people very happy. Some people want something in between. They don’t want to have a completely wide eyed Caucasian shape; they want something just a little bit more Eurasian so to speak.
