Is massage helpful after liposuction?
DR. Salzhauer: We’ve got another email, from Michelle in Fort Lauderdale. And she’s asking "Is massage helpful after lipo?" I think so. There’s no great real randomized controlled studies about massage after liposuction. But first of all, I think it does increase blood flow. It does smooth out some of the lumps and bumps as your liposuction is healing. And it’s just a great way to relax after surgery. I’m a big fan of massage after liposuction. It can be accomplished through endermology, or just plain deep massage, or regular old massage. So that’s the question for Michelle in Fort Lauderdale. Jeannine: And I did get an endermology after my liposuction and it really did help. I did have to do it quite a while, at least 8 weeks after. I went very light on it. But it really actually felt very good, and it did smooth me out a little bit, and I enjoyed it. So it was good for me.
