How much time should be set aside for tummy tuck surgery?
DR. Salzhauer: We have an email, actually, all the way from California. Francis, a listener in California, writes: "How long do I have to stay in town for a tummy tuck, and do we have an overnight facility?" Well, the answer is two weeks. We like our patients to stay 2 weeks after a tummy tuck just to make sure everything’s okay, and with the caveat that if for some reason the healing is delayed that they stay even longer or that we set up a plastic surgeon to follow her up in their home town before the surgery Justin case the healing is a bit delayed. For most patients, 2 weeks in town is all you need. And the answer is yes, we have the ability to put you up overnight. Usually, it’s right next to us at the Sheraton Bal Harbor, and we have in house nurses and physician’s assistants that will go take care of you. And of course, our office is right next door so I myself can go visit you in your hotel room while you recover. Jeannine: And we’re having more and more people come in from out of state. DR. Salzhauer: We are. From the islands, from Europe, [people] from all over this great country come in for surgery here. Because we do a really great job, I think, and we have a really great staff around me. I think that makes all the difference.
