Jeannine Morrissette: Also, what about the tattoo removal? We do have that at the Laser Lounge. How often do people have to come back for the tattoo removal? Dr. Michael Salzhauer: Most people do it every 3-4 weeks or so to allow their body to heal between each treatment. Now, tattoo removal is becoming more and more common and I predict in the next 10 years it’s probably going to double every single year because more and more young people are getting tattoos that they later regret when they join the workforce and become mommies and dads and whatnot. A phrase that I remember is "A tattoo is a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling". So a lot of people come in to have their tattoos removed and the lasers that do that are getting better and better. Now, it’s not a perfect science. There is usually a slight pigmentary change in the area where the tattoo was but it looks just like a light scar in the area where the tattoo was but it’s better than having, let’s say, an ex-boyfriend’s name tattooed on your arm or something. Jeannine Morrissette: We have a lot of those. Dr. Michael Salzhauer: Yeah, we get a lot of those. Jeannine Morrissette: Yes, we do. Dr. Michael Salzhauer: So two warnings out there for anybody listening. Don’t have surgery outside of the United States just because it’s cheaper, and secondly don’t get a tattoo unless already married, with kids, and you’re for sure going to stay with that person forever. Don’t put their name on your body. Jeannine Morrissette: Let’s talk about our beautiful office in Bal Harbour. We do have computer-based imaging. Dr. Michael Salzhauer: That’s true, everybody loves that. Jeannine Morrissette: I’m telling you, it looks so good. When we just did Laura’s nose, her before and after. Dr. Michael Salzhauer: Yeah, and it really motivates people because once you see on the computer the look that you want, you feel more comfortable. When I do my imaging, I try to make it very realistic. Jeannine Morrissette: And you do. Dr. Michael Salzhauer: I don’t shoot for the moon, I don’t promise things that I can’t deliver. I try to keep it realistic so that everybody’s on the same page. We have complimentary consultations in Bal Harbour. We do surgery five days a week in the morning. We have our own private surgical suite. I am board certified, and you come in, I talk to you about what you don’t like, and then we take some pictures and do some imaging on the computer and it’s all free and it’s all great. Our phone number in the office is 305-861-8266 and the number here in the studio, we are live, is 1-877-850-8585. If you have any questions please call us in the office. Jeannine Morrissette: Our consultations are every Tuesday and Thursday and Friday. We stay late, which is really, really good. Dr. Michael Salzhauer: Sure, come after work. Jeannine Morrissette: We stay until we say 8:00, but we’re there very late for those consultations. Dr. Michael Salzhauer: We’re quite busy and our consultation appointments do fill up very fast, and we typically see 15, let’s say, in a day. Jeannine Morrissette: I still want to stress Mother’s Day. I just think it’s such a great, great gift. Botox or Restylane. Dr. Michael Salzhauer: Sure, we have gift certificates also, both here and the Laser Lounge. You know, at the Laser Lounge in Pembroke Pines, we do laser hair removal, Botox, Restylane, all that 7 days a week. We have physician assistants there. I, of course, supervise everything personally and make sure that you get the very best, best medical care. Jeannine Morrissette: Yes. Talking about that, we’ve been seeing a lot of people from other facilities that have been bad experiences with laser, that they did not have a doctor watching them. This week we saw. You know who I’m talking about. Dr. Michael Salzhauer: Yeah. Well, you know what happens is there’s a lot of people out there that want to get in the medspa business that may not be trained properly. They may not be dermatologists or plastic surgeons at all. They may be gynecologists or ear docs or whatnot. You know, this is not something that you can just pick up on a weekend course generally. It’s something that you need to train for years to make sure you know the anatomy, to know what you’re doing. You’re talking about your health, so you do want to go to a board certified plastic surgeon if you’re going to have anything like this, if you’re considering anything like this. Jeannine Morrissette: We do offer permanent makeup at the Laser Lounge now, which is absolutely wonderful. _____________ doing a wonderful job. Dr. Michael Salzhauer: That’s another great Mother’s Day gift, sure? Jeannine Morrissette: Yes. I’m thinking of these Mother’s Day gifts. You can call us at 305-861-8266 at the office and we’ll get you a consultation over there, and that is a really great Mother’s Day gift that’s coming up. Also, we were talking about women who went back into shape very, very fast after having a baby. Our director, Kimberly, looks fabulous. I mean, she looks so good. When she came back to work, she is so skinny right now, I keep on telling her but she looks absolutely fabulous and she went back into shape very, very soon and she should be having some surgery shortly. I think so. I’m going to put her on the books. Dr. Michael Salzhauer: Okay, we’ll have to ask Kim about that. What happens is after you’re pregnant, the muscles stretch. They separate in the middle. That’s called a diastasis and when the rectus muscles, those are the muscles that make the six-pack on your abdomen, when they separate they don’t go back together generally after childbirth, and no matter how many sit-ups you do, no matter how much weight you lose, your stomach will never be as flat as it was before you had children and the only way to fix that is a tummy tuck where we actually lift up the skin. Jeannine Morrissette: But what about if you just have a little bit of skin and you really don’t think you need a tummy tuck. Can you do a skin excision? Dr. Michael Salzhauer: Sure. Well, we call that a mini abdominoplasty or a mini tummy tuck. The incisions are slightly smaller. Still, the main complaint that most women have, even if they look skinny, is that the muscles are weak on the lower part of their abdomen and there’s a little pouch there and a little weakness to the muscles in the bottom part. So even a mini tummy tuck, through a smaller incision, we can address the lower abdominal muscle weakness. We put permanent sutures in, we tie them together down the middle, and we make you flat, flat, flat as can be, and then sew this thing back together.

The new digital imaging feature on your site is very cool. It took me less than 5 minutes to do my own nose.
